GGGE2153 Educational Technology: Edutechnovation Day

Assalamualaikum and hello! 🙂

Today is the day that we present all our hard work and effort throughout the semester. I had woken up late and arrived very, very late to the event. But overall, the event went on without a hitch. It was a success! This has been a journey to remember and I have learned so much this semester.

It goes without saying, technology really is important in today’s education. Just by looking at my friends’ videos, I know that it is possible to use technology to teach. If you do not know how to, then learn how to! I hope I am able to apply technology successfully when I myself am teaching in the future.

It was fun learning and gaining knowledge with you all 🙂 Assalamualaikum.

GGGE2153 Educational Technology: Fifteenth Week Reflection

This week we attended a talk on photography done by some of UKM’s photographers. It was very interesting listening to their experiences. The room was very crowded but I enjoyed listening to them talk about their experiences as photographers before the age of digital cameras and camera phones.

GGGE2153 Educational Technology: Eleventh Week Reflection

Assalamualaikum 🙂

Today is the day that we present the initial draft of our videos. I was both nervous and felt rather embarrassed at the same time.

The first group that presented was Mimi’s group. They had very beautiful shots and had a nice concept to it. I like the techniques that they used very much. Azrul Syafik’s group also caught my attention. Their cinematography was stunning. Joanna’s group’s video had a very interesting and sinister vibe to it. Everyone did a great job.

Other groups showed the trailers of their videos but our group showed the first two scenes of our full video. It was embarrassing because my scene was first! I was very sure my face was red! This is the draft that we showed:

GGGE2153 Educational Technology: Ninth Week Reflection

Assalamualaikum 🙂

I was unable to be present on this day due to personal reasons (eheh..) but two of my group mates, Aizat and Amirul, were there to do our storyboard. Thank you you two!

After presenting the storyboard, the boys said that Prof Rosseni had suggested some changes to our story. She said that we should insert drinking alcohol as a part of our first sin because logically, alcohol will lead to other sins happening. She also reminded us not to exceed the time limit and submit our work on time. The boys went to the rooftop of FKAB and recorded another scene.

That is all that I have to report. There is not much to report as I was not there due to my own errors.

GGGE2153 Educational Technology: Eighth Week Reflection

Assalamualaikum 🙂

It is now week eight. This week, Kak Ana told us that the lecture will be focused on how to edit photos in Photoshop. Photoshop is something that I wish I had but my laptop is unable to handle the size of it so I use only PhotoScape, a simpler version of Photoshop. But the lesson was still useful because I would be able to know what to do in case I one day obtain Photoshop. Faiz had been called up again to to teach us.

We presented the details of our video proposal as well. Kak Ana wanted us to explain our video. Meaning we had to show our video. Prof Rosseni liked our idea and asked us to improve it so that the story line will be clearer.

This is a brief explanation of our video:

The story is about a guy named Amirul. He is a sinner. In this video, we will portray the 4 biggest sins that a Muslim should not do. The 1first one is adultery, where he makes his girlfriend pregnant and decided to not be responsible for it. The second one is he becomes an ungrateful child towards his own dad. He beats him, scold him and all. The third one, because of the influence of  a bad friend, he then starts to drink alcohol. The fourth one is, due to desperateness, he decided to rob and kill for money. The main point of our story is when Amirul decides to repent. The moral of the story is that we want to show Allah’s Ar-Rahman and Ar-Rahim. He loves those who repent to Him after doing sins. That is why we named our video TAUBAT.

GGGE2153 Educational Technology: Seventh Week Reflection

This week we don’t have class because it’s the mid semester break. I spent some time at home editing the pictures that I took in Penang. It wasn’t easy as there were over 200 + photos and the only editing tool I had was the Camera360 app in my phone. It took me, in my estimates, 2-3 hours of editing. In the end, I only uploaded a few pictures. Ah, but before I forget, I would like to mention that the very next day after our trip, we had a program in Malacca where we were facilitators for some of the foreign students who are learning Malay. While there, I decided to take some extra pictures for the class and I’d like to show you some of the pictures.
